Energy and Environmental Design of Buildings

Objective

The laboratory deals with the impact of architectural design on the building energy balance. It participates in research programs on the design of low-energy buildings, in committees related to energy saving and supports the design of passive heating-cooling systems, natural/artificial lighting. It has equipment for thermal comfort measurements as well as software for energy simulations and lighting system design.

Laboratory equipment

•Installation of artificial sky, Heliodon
•Solar system test chamber
•Brightness distribution recording system, photometers

•Various sensors for measuring environmental variables inside buildings.
•Power quality measurement system
•Building airtightness measurement device (blower door)
•Thermal camera
•Energy simulation software, lighting design
