Biography


Dr. Dimitris Psychogyios is an Architect and Engineer, Assistant Professor at the Department of Architectural Engineering of the University of Thessaly, with a subject area of ​​expertise of "Creative Design - CAD / CAM Technologies".

His research interests cover the areas of Automation in Construction, design and construction technologies, technologically advanced structural systems, intelligent building systems. He also works towards hybrid environments, knowledge management and the philosophy of technology. His doctoral thesis concerns design and construction technologies in the era of the dominance of the network paradigm, choosing cultural environments as a field of systematic observation. The contribution of the work focuses on the correlation of the change in the ontology of the design object, with the change in the program, the way of conception and the way of implementation of its construction. His research work has as its starting point the assumption that the use of scientific knowledge and technology is not socially neutral or innocent.

He received a PhD, a Postgraduate Diploma and a Diploma from the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens, and also received a degree in Structural Engineering from the Technical University of Athens. He has been a member of the Technical University of Athens since 2005, has a large number of completed architectural projects and participations in numerous architectural competitions. In the past, he has worked at the JSA architectural office based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He has also participated in research projects with large budgets and multi-member interdisciplinary teams. He is the author of more than 20 published papers in scientific journals, conference proceedings, etc. In addition, he has many years of teaching experience at the School of Architectural Engineering of the NTUA, the Department of Architectural Engineering of the University of Thessaloniki, the Department of Wood and Furniture Design and Technology and the Department of Architectural Engineering of the University of Thessaloniki.
